Accounts Payable Assistant
Location: Glasgow
Hours: Full-time, office-based – Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Contract: Initially temporary, with a permanent opportunity also available
We’re working with a well-established business based in Glasgow who are looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their finance team. This is a full-time, office-based role, offering an excellent opportunity for someone with invoice processing experience who is keen to develop and progress their finance career.
The Role
Working within a supportive and experienced finance team, you’ll report directly to the Financial Accountant, whose willingness to share knowledge and mentor others is clear. The successful candidate will support day-to-day accounts payable activities, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
- Resolving invoice and query discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams
- Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records
- Supporting month-end activities where required
- General finance administration duties
The Candidate
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working within a finance team
- Has hands-on experience with invoice processing / accounts payable
- Is highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Has a genuine willingness to learn and develop their finance skillset
- Is reliable, proactive, and enjoys working as part of a team
This role would suit someone early in their finance career who is looking for stability, development, and the opportunity to secure a long-term permanent position.
