The Opportunity
As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in month end, general ledger maintenance, and supporting several legal entities. You’ll gain exposure across the full finance function while working closely with the Accountant and Finance Director.
This is a great step for someone looking to build on their experience and take ownership of tasks within a collaborative and encouraging team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accounts for newly acquired entities and ensuring accuracy across financial reporting
- Preparing and performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Raising and processing sales invoices
- Supporting month end close including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing National Statistics returns
- Assisting with tax compliance and providing analysis to external advisors
- Setting up manual payments and BACS payment runs
- Supporting wider finance colleagues with ad‑hoc tasks and reporting requirements
Background and Experience
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2 years’ experience in a finance role
- Is confident working with MS Office, particularly Excel
- Has strong attention to detail and can manage deadlines
- Communicates well and can work independently as well as part of a team
- Brings a proactive, positive attitude and is comfortable taking ownership
