Overview of the Role
Reporting to the Aberdeen based Finance Director, the main purpose of the role is to supervise and motivate the Finance team to deliver an efficient and accurate finance function. You will deliver monthly management reporting, for internal purposes and reporting to the parent Group, manage the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process and provide support to the Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly close, ensure correct posting of month end accruals and prepayments journals
- Prepare internal reporting for Company and Group
- Accountable for all forecasting to Group
- Lead Annual Planning Process
- Ensure adequate internal controls maintained throughout
- Supervision of AR and AP processes
- Cash flow forecasting
- Finance focal point for group integration projects
- Support for internal and external audits as required
- Ad-hoc projects
- Development and continual improvement to ERP system (SAP)
Background and Experience:
- Experience as Financial Controller in an Oil and Gas environment, reporting into an overseas parent company
- Up to date knowledge of current financial law, accounting principles and internal controls
- Experience of international financial operations and in controlling financial compliance in multiple global entities
- Strong ERP and financial reporting system knowledge
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to use initiative and work independently and make decisions in an international finance role
- Experience of SAP
- Prior experience dealing with the Middle East
- Ability to plan, control and take responsibility for own work and related decisions
- Problem solving approach and a ‘get it right first time’ attitude
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and good teamwork skills with ability to motivate financial function and others within organisation
- Strong ability to perform well under pressure, meet tight deadlines and changing job priorities
- Attention to detail in all aspects of the job role
