Finance Manager - St Andrews

We are delighted to be recruiting on an exclusive basis for a permanent Finance Manager based in St Andrews, Fife. Leading a small finance team and reporting to the Finance Director this is an excellent opportunity for an individual with hands-on financial & people management experience, to work closely with the Executive team and support organisational goals.  This is a full time position based in the office however part time individuals will also be considered.

The Job Opportunity

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, management accounts, budgeting & forecasting and will lead on the annual audit, compliance and VAT management.

In this role you will; 

  • Manage the finance function, leading a team of 4 direct reports and reporting to the Finance Director
  • Prepare and oversee annual budgets, statutory accounts, management accounts, and forecasts
  • Manage external audit, tax compliance, VAT, and year-end processes
  • Ensure robust financial controls, systems, and governance across the organisation
  • Lead process improvements, including digitalisation and automation of financial systems
  • Oversee payroll, pensions etc ensure efficiency and value for money
  • Provide financial advice to senior leadership and Board to aid in key decision making
  • Build strong relationships with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies
  • Manage and develop the finance team to drive collaboration and high performance

The Candidate

We are looking for a qualified (ICAS / CIMA / ACCA etc) finance professional with strong technical expertise, people management and excellent interpersonal skills.  Significant experience in financial management is essential, including statutory accounts, management accounts, budgeting, and compliance, alongside strong IT proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and financial systems.

You will demonstrate exceptional numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate clearly to diverse audiences. Strong organisational and time management skills are required, with the capacity to prioritise effectively under pressure. A collaborative approach, integrity, and the ability to build trusted relationships are key, as is being self-motivated and resilient in meeting deadlines.

Benefits 

This is a full time position; however part-time hours will be considered for the right individual therefore offering flexibility on days worked and start/finish times.  Benefits include; 

  • Salary up to £62,000
  • Defined contribution pension 6% employer contribution 
  • 38 days per annum
