Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment are working with a growing, well‑established business to recruit a Group Finance Assistant into their central finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate with placement experience, or someone early in their finance career, who’s keen to build strong foundations within a group environment.
You’ll gain broad exposure across group and operational accounting, working closely with experienced finance professionals and supporting month‑end, reporting and day‑to‑day finance activity. The business can offer genuine progression and development as the team and wider group continue to grow.
The Opportunity
The Group Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting accurate reporting and smooth financial operations across the group.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accounting records for multiple group entities
- Supporting monthly management accounts and year‑end statutory reporting
- Preparing reconciliations and assisting with group consolidation
- Collating and analysing financial data for group reporting purposes
- Supporting the application and management of foreign exchange rates
- Assisting with treasury-related reporting and weekly cash flow data
- Supporting banking administration, payments and account maintenance
- Liaising with operational finance teams to ensure timely and accurate information
- Ad‑hoc finance support as required across the group
Background and Experience
This role would suit someone looking to develop their career within finance. You’ll ideally have:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting or Business, or equivalent experience
- Placement experience or initial experience within a finance function
- Strong Excel skills and a good eye for detail
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders
- The ability to manage tasks, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- UK right to work (this role does not offer sponsorship)
