Head of Procurement

Cooper Parry Finance recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our exclusive & retained client for a Head of Procurement based in Perthshire. The position offers a salary up to £80,000 + bonus, car allowance & other benefits. This is a permanent position working 35 hours a week on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office. This is a stand-alone role, making decisions that will shape the future of procurement in the company. You will join a market-leading organisation with ambitious growth plans and a strong focus on delivering exceptional service to its customers. 

The Job Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a highly visible role working as part of the senior leadership team. You will be in charge of making decisions in procurement and supporting key decision-making across the organisation.  This role has no direct reports but you will work closely with a range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive efficiency across the business through successful management and fulfilment of procurement needs
  • Create and manage an effective contract database
  • Produce and deliver effective sourcing strategies
  • Support the management of supplier contracts through procurement and service delivery
  • Negotiate with suppliers and maintain and manage great supplier relations
  • Through quality procurement bring improvement to the significant IT functions and contracts of the business
  • Manage renewal of outsourced contracts with a cost-efficient and quality-conscious approach
  • Take responsibility for the annual procurement budget while delivering effective cost reduction planning
  • Deliver a high standard of reporting to senior management
  • Work on a variety of projects including acquisitions from a procurement prospective

The Person

You will have extensive commercial and procurement experience ideally in a regulated environment. You will have proven experience in supplier management strategies and tactics and strong negotiating skills.  You will possess the ability to deliver day-to-day procurement management in a standalone position and be confident in decision making and the ability to challenge. Experience of managing contracts is desirable and you will have a proven record in managing supply chain risk and issues. You will have strong IT skills including Excel, possess excellent analytical skills and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
