Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged exclusively to source a Sub-Contract Specialist on a full time, staff basis. Our client is a successful, PE backed business providing a range of services across renewables, oil and gas and ocean services. This role is based in Kingswells on a hybrid basis (three days in the office). Our client offers flexible working, career development and a competitive salary.
This role will develop and facilitate the company’s sub-contracting efficiency and effectiveness and associated procurement processes, pre and post contract award, to the benefit of the company’s tenders and projects, with the purpose of mitigating commercial risk, reducing total acquisition costs whilst improving quality and service levels.
The Opportunity
- Development and execution of Sub-Contracting and Procurement strategy, both pre and post contract awards, from category mapping, to ITT processes, bid evaluations, negotiations, contract award, management and review
- Support of Project Procurement team in the development and implementation of procurement plans for each project
- Source & qualify new Sub-Contractors and carry out competitive sourcing/tendering projects
- Negotiate for best fit and optimum costs, commensurate with quality, reliability and delivery
- Establish and maintenance of Frame Work Agreements and Supply Contracts
- Assure all company’s purchase T&Cs and Client flow-through (B2B) terms are met by sub-contractors to minimise commercial risk
- Compilation & analysis of commercial quotations for goods & services, making sourcing recommendations to internal customers
- Expedite solution of any problems that arise in relation to service delivery, quality, quantity, documentation and cost of purchased categories
- Ensure accuracy of procurement system(s) as applicable
- Support commercial bidding and indirect procurement as required
- Ensure the procurement procedures are followed within Procurement and by the organization
- Qualification of Sub-Contractors and on-going maintenance of Approved (Preferred) Suppliers
- Conduct risk analyses to establish security of future supplies
Background and Experience
- Further education in Finance, Engineering or Commercial disciplines to HND / NVQ or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree desirable. Demonstrable experience may be acceptable in lieu of qualification
- Formal legal/contractual training
- Minimum 5 years’ Procurement and Sub-Contracting experience in multi-project, engineering environment
